health or retirement or surgery?

The mother of my husband (62) just had his prostate removed about two months because of surgery. I missed the work of about seven weeks. Now, he learns he has liver cancer, a biopsy, doctors say surgery / chemotherapy is not an option. is not a smoker / drinker. They are meeting this week with a surgeon of Texas at San Antonio the only option is a liver transplant. it will be one of the top of the list. but it could be 8 months. Therefore, the recovery time is usually 9 months ish. thought about early retirement. After his retirement a little research would only be about 600.00 Can you qualify for benefits? the Social Security? disability? As I am not sure what I'm looking, it is difficult to apply online. They thought if they can find something for the nine months of recovery that can run another 3 years and receive a full pension

The big question is whether whether or not he is able to work and whether or not a doctor says you can not work. If your condition prevents you from working, then it would be eligible for security social disability If you have enough quarters (I think it adds up to about 10 years). Of course, not be able to work when it is the transplant, most have a long recovery. Not to mention how he is sick, so I can not say whether or not he could have a chance. If I were them, I would go to your local Social Security office and explain everything to them. There is no doubt more $ 600 monthly disability of any kind. Even disabled by SSI (for those who acquire a disability, but not enough work to qualify history SSD) is over $ 600 more than their health insurance, with monthly payments of disability. Liver cancer has not spread everywhere, but not should not be large tumors, because they do not offer a transplant, if any of these conditions existed. The prognosis should be good enough once you get a transplant. I hope he gets the help they need as soon as possible. If you do not appear on the transplant list and have questions about the transplant, just send me an email. I've seen it all when it comes to getting a transplant and will be happy to answer questions that I can for you. I did not have cancer yet. I had a problem that destroys autoimmune liver.
