My knowledge of prostate cancer has increased dramatically in recent years and only to the documentary I did on the prostate cancer and African-American Men. I did the documentary because a family member has died or been diagnosed with it, or friend. Everything has been inspired by a man named Ron Brewington. (I later discovered, Mr. Brewington has been twice survivor of prostate cancer. Wow.) I was hired to do work for us in another project. Once completed, approached me and said: 'How's your prostate? "All I could do was look at the eyes and say: "I think it's good."

I was talking about my experience with my own doctor. Today, I realize that I knew nothing. I think it was my doctor told me. Now, what is it, I do not know. I have been informed a free screening tomorrow. So I went and found the experience very exciting. There were men on the line to enter, with all numbers. Among them were information stands and people can draw blood (for a PSA test) and Physicians for a rectal examination, known as DRE. It There were lots and lots of literature on the subject is cancer of the prostate before and after getting get.

I learned that the event was organized by "Real Men" Cook Foundation here in Los Angeles and they do several times a year. This huge organization is primarily the detection early prostate cancer. The best thing about the event is free. Not a bad way to save money and we get not verify a possible life-threatening. If prostate cancer affects twice as many African-American men than any other ethnic group here in America. So who are at high risk. If your father had prostate cancer or his uncle, you are more at risk.

I felt in my heart, This event was a great thing, but the sad part is, is that still there was not enough men on the line for me. I thought that the line should be wrapped around the block. Perhaps the information on this event is not enough people in the community. I thought that I can help with this. When we tried to do a documentary on another subject, my co-producer and I. So I approached later that day and asked if we made a documentary about prostate cancer. After hearing what I have lived, said yes. This was the beginning of our contribution to this silent killer disease. Yes, you have cancer of the prostate in May and did not know who. You can be in a group, to be symptomatic, but no symptoms until it was too late.

We began our literature with the founder and director of the Real Men Cook "Foundation, the Center for Detection early prostate cancer. It is a place where you want to stay in touch with you or for someone who means something to you.

This led to the spring of 2009, launching the competition winning documentary, "The silent killer: prostate cancer"

Thank you.

Robb is correct. The only problem with biopsy is that it may lose cancer. Probably need to obtain a second biopsy. You also know what its number of free PSA is it? A minor number , the higher the likelihood of cancer. Surgery is not the only option, although many doctors do you think is best. I had cancer prostate and received seed implants. The treatment is called Brachy therapy. My PSA dropped to 2.3 and falling. Do not neglect. It is also important their age. If you see me less than 55 carefully.
