Question of prostate cancer?

My dad recently found out he has. It is the first step and goes with the radiation treatment. He goes to an excellent hospital with world-class docotors. I am concerned, however, because he is my dad. Does anyone have experience with this disease? Be I'm asking for answers, but I have to say that just do not want to hear any horror stories please. Doctors have given a very good outlook, I guess I'm seeking tranquility. Thanks! My dad is almost 57 and very healthy otherwise.

In the spectrum of cancers, prostate cancer is a relatively "whimpy" cancer. 80% of men age 85 have prostate cancer. Most die with him and not hers. Some professional societies still debate whether should be screening and treatment for prostate cancer. I bet your father is going to do very well (or not world class medical).
